Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Programme felicitates Mothers and Newborn baby Girls in Wokha at DCs Conference Hall Wokha on March 24.
Wokha, March 24 (MExN): The Wokha District Administration, Department of Social Welfare, and District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), under the banner of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (Mission Shakti) organised a felicitation programme for mothers and newborn baby girls at the DC’s conference hall, Wokha on March 24.
Epidemiologist, Dr Khesheli Awomi delivered a session on “Complementary Feeding: Right Food, Right Time, Right Amount,” emphasising the importance of proper nutrition for child health. Altogether 190 mothers and newborn baby girls were felicitated during the event, with blankets distributed as part of the initiative.
The programme was chaired by Gender Specialist, DHEW, Merithung Lotha, while the vote of thanks was proposed by District Mission Coordinator, DHEW, Dr Wonjano E Enny.
The event highlighted the commitment of the district administration and social welfare agencies towards promoting maternal and child welfare, reinforcing the vision of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao to empower women and ensure a healthier future for the girl child.
