WOKHA, JUNE 30 (MExN): The Wokha district administration on Tuesday sought the cooperation of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to ensure an accurate and comprehensive Census 2027, with discussions focusing on enumeration, connectivity challenges and household geo-tagging.

The issues were discussed during a consultative meeting with CSOs held at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall, Wokha, according to a DIPR report.

Deputy Commissioner and Principal Census Officer, K Mhathung Tsanglao, briefed participants on various aspects of the upcoming census, including the history of census operations, Wokha's population as per the 2011 Census, the number of census charges in the district, and the enumerators and supervisors to be engaged for Census 2027.

He also highlighted challenges related to network connectivity and geo-tagging of census households in shadow areas.

During an interactive session, representatives of CSOs raised queries on different aspects of the census process. Tsanglao underscored the need for efficiency, accuracy and coordination to ensure that no household is left out during enumeration.

The CSOs assured the district administration of their full cooperation in making Census 2027 a successful, accurate and meaningful exercise in Wokha district.
