The Central Nagaland Women Association (CNWA) and Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH) convened a consultative meeting along with the women candidates preparing to participate in the Urban Local Bodies ULB) elections at the Lotha Eloe Hoho, Wokha office on June 6.
The collaborative effort was initiated to discuss, exchange ideas and empower female candidates for the upcoming ULB elections scheduled for June 26.
CNWA President, K Atoli Sema emphasised the importance of conducting campaigns independently while advocating for transparent and ethical electoral practices, urging candidates to refrain from establishing youth camps.
Offering words of encouragement, Sema extended her well-wishes to candidates from both reserved and general wards, underlining the significance of mutual empowerment and support among women.
Stressing the values of integrity and honesty, she underscored the need for women to set a positive precedent in electoral history.
Thungbeni Ngullie, President of Lotha Eloe Hoho urged the women to make use of the electoral platform as a way for Women’s empowerment.
Addressing concerns surrounding reserved wards, she urged the women candidates to assert their independence in decision-making processes.
