Wokha, August 31 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, Vineet Kumar, has convened a preparatory meeting on September 1 to deliberate on the arrangements for the upcoming “Banana Festival” scheduled to be held in October.
According to a circular issued by the DC, the meeting will take place at 12:00 hours in the conference hall of the DC’s office. The discussions will centre on preparations for the festival along with activities under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative and the district’s Banana Vision Document. The circular informed that the meeting will focus on coordination among various departments and stakeholders to ensure the successful conduct of the event.
All administrative officers based at Wokha headquarters have been directed to attend the meeting, along with the Divisional Forest Officer, District Planning Officer, District Agriculture Officer and Project Director ATMA, District Horticulture Officer, Project Director DRDA, General Manager DIC, Senior Scientist and Head of ICAR-KVK Wokha, District Development Manager NABARD, District Public Relations Officer, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, and the Additional District Programme Manager of NSRLM-DMMU Wokha.
The “Banana Festival” is being planned as part of the district’s effort to promote banana cultivation and allied activities under the ODOP framework.
