Dimapur, September 24 (MExN): Wokha District Dobashi Union (WDDU) has vehemently condemned the barbarous act committed by Akashi for attempting to murder her own husband on September 16, 2011. The Union expressed surprise that Akashe has been happily married to him for the last seventeen years. By doing this heinous act she has deeply hurt the sentiment of the Lotha in particular and Nagas in general.
“This cruel attempt of murder by her own wife was neither unheard in our Naga society since it was considered as a social taboo,” stated C. Shibemo Ezung, joint secretary, WDDU. The Union in its strongest term appealed to the law enforcing agency to book the culprit as per the law of the land and by giving her exemplary punishment so that this type of incident should not repeat again in Naga society. WDDU further extends solidarity to the victim and prays for his speedy recovery.
