Wokha DPDB approves LADP & Common Pool

Wokha, July 15 (MExN): The Wokha District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) held its monthly meeting at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Wokha on July 15. The meeting was chaired by Advisor, Information Technology & Communication, Science & Technology, New & Renewable Energy, Mmhonlumo Kikon.

A DIPR report stated that the meeting focused for the approval and finalization of LADP & Common Pool 2021-22 which was deliberated at length and the board approved for recommendation.

The members discussed on the establishment of Veterinary Health Centre at Ralan and proposal for up-gradation of Chukitong, PHC to CHC (Community Health Centre) recommended it to higher authority for consideration.

Chief Medical Officer, Wokha, Dr CW Tungoe, while highlighting the COVID-19 scenario said that the district has so far received 40,780 doses of vaccines out of which 36,680 vaccines have been utilized, and added that there are 4,100 doses left in the district. He also highlighted on the status of all Cold Chain Point COVID-19 vaccine stock as on July 14, where 11 cold chain points in the entire district are functional to intensify the vaccine activity.

Discussing on the status of COVID-19 scenario in the district, Mmhonlumo said that deduction of 10% from the LADP fund for the year 2021-22 is to facilitate the infrastructure and other facilities of the health care system in the district to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. He urged the Wokha District Task Force to give more effort to ramp up for more testing and intensify vaccination and to involve the churches and other frontal organizations to create awareness on the benefits of vaccination.
