Wokha, May 10 (MExN): The monthly Wokha District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on May 10 at the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) conference hall with DC and board vice-chairperson Orenthung Lotha chairing the meeting.
During the meeting, MLA Dr Chumben Murry raised various questions on the services being provided in the district by the Indian Postal Services and said that with rise of e-commerce, there is a need for proper delivery systems including home delivery services. The Indian Postal Services, he said, has a huge role to play for the benefit for the people, according to a DIPR report.
On Aspirational Block Changpang, DC Orenthung Lotha said that the district has already set up a committee with the DC as the chairperson and the committee is waiting for further instruction from the Government to take up various activities.
Wokha Chief Medical Officer Dr CW Tungoe apprised the house on the COVID-19 vaccination status and informed that a total of 15,186 persons have been vaccinated till date, out of the 20,780 vaccines allotted for Wokha district. The DIPR report also stated that Wokha Medical Superintendent Dr Tumchobeni highlighted about the activities and status of District Hospital Wokha. However, no details were given in the report.

House sealed in Wokha
Meanwhile, another DIPR report stated that the Wokha DC has ordered the sealing of a house at Etsuchukha Colony in Wokha town, in view of detection and confirmation of COVID-19 positive case and in the larger interest of public health and safety. The sealing comes into immediate effect from May 10.
Any person violation this containment measures will be liable to be persecuted as per the provision of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005, besides legal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, the order stated.
