Wokha empowers girl child, women under BBBP

Wokha, September 18 (MExN): Under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), the District Administration and DLCW-MSK Wokha organised a short programme at Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall, Wokha on September 18 to felicitate the girl child who has achieved 100% transition who has done exceptionally well in the field of education basing on last year academic results (2019).

According to a DIPR report, aash incentives and certification of citation were given to 17 schools under Wokha district.

The award was categorised in to two, that is Class 5 to class 6 (Three schools) namely GHS Longtsung, GHS Mekokla and GHS L.Longidang.And class 8 to class 9 (14 schools) namely GHSS Wokha, Chukitong, Bhandari, GHS Baghty, GHS Akuk, GHS Sungro, GHS Wokha village, GHS Wozhuro, GHS Longtsung, GHS Mekokla, GHS L.Longidang, GHS Englan, GHS Sanis and GHS Rachan.

EAC (DEV) Wokha, Imtinungula Longkumer while handing over the cash to the Teachers In-Charge, urged them to utilise the funds judiciously for the welfare of the school so that student’s will be encouraged to do more better and bring good results in the coming years as well.

The District Administration also handed over blankets, baby kits and nutritional supplements to one of the lactating mother returnee who reached the district during the lockdown period under BBBP.

GHS Teacher In-Charge Wozhuro, who spoke on behalf of all the teachers expressed happiness and lauded the District Administration and DLCW-MSK for taking up such kind of initiatives in encouraging the girl child and expressed hope that through such kind of initiatives they will be encouraged to do better in the years to come.
