Wokha reviews Mission Shakti progress, discusses Sakhi Centre management panel

Wokha, June 23 (MExN): The quarterly meeting of the District Level Committee of Mission Shakti and a consultative meeting on the constitution of the management committee for the Sakhi One Stop Centre were held at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall, Wokha, on June 23.

According to information provided by the State DIPR, the meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson of Mission Shakti, K Mhathung Tsanglao.

The committee reviewed progress under Mission Shakti, including the implementation of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme. Discussions focused on the district action plan, ongoing activities and measures for improving programme outcomes.

Central Administrator of Sakhi One Stop Centre, Thungbeni Kikon, highlighted the roles and responsibilities of the newly constituted management committee. The committee comprises of Chairperson: District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner; Superintendent of Police (SP); Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA); District Bar Council Chairperson; Chief Medical Officer (CMO); District Programme Officer (DPO)/Protection Officer (PO); District Panchayat Officer; Civil Society representatives (three members, with a minimum of two women); and Special Area: ITDA/ITDP Project Officer (if applicable).

The composition was discussed to ensure effective functioning and accountability of the Sakhi One Stop Centre in providing integrated support and assistance to women in distress, the State DIPR reported.
