Kohima, April 28 (MExN): Participants of the Amazing Namaste Foundation’s Women on Wheels – Car Drive Season 4 called on Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav at Lok Bhavan, Kohima on April 28.
According to a press release from the PRO, Lok Bhavan, the Governor appreciated the initiative for promoting women’s empowerment through adventure and self-driven exploration. He also commended the participants for their courage, determination and spirit of companionship.
During the interaction, Yadav highlighted the spirit of “unity in diversity,” stating that such initiatives strengthen national integration by bringing together people from different states of India. He encouraged the participants and lauded their enthusiasm.
Emphasising that women in India have long been empowered, the Governor cited the example of Rani Lakshmibai and said women are capable of achieving anything.
He also underlined the need to change perceptions about the North-East and promote deeper understanding of the region across the country, the release added.
Officials of Amazing Namaste Foundation and the Chairperson of the Nagaland State Commission for Women, W Nginyeih Konyak were also present on the occasion.
