Women Reservation Act was amended and passed by the sixty-member Nagaland Legislative Assembly in the year 2006. Whereby a total of 81 seat have been identified as reserved in all Town Municipal Councils in Nagaland. In 2012 Rio announces Study Committee on Women’s reservation, the Committee informed the house that Nagaland was well protected under Article 371 (A) of the Constitution and no law passed in Parliament could not be applicable in the State until the Assembly endorses the law. Subsequently, Petition (s) for Special Leave to Appeal (C) No. (s), 26794/2012  

(Arising out of impugned final judgement and order dated 31/07/2012 in NA No. 116/2012 passed by the High Court of Guwahati). SLP (C) No. 26794/2012 Leave granted Implementation of the impugned judgement shall remain stayed WP (C) No. 242/2014 Rule The principle was accepted in law through the Nagaland Municipal First Amendment, Act in 2006. An abrupt reversal of the policy “the law-makers flip-flop” on the issue was stayed.  

Contrary to the belief, the question here is not about feminism but if the natural talents of Woman were tapped for civic duty, our society would gain 50 percent “or civilization”, in the rhetoric of the era.
