DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 9 (MExN): To commemorate the International Human Rights Day on 10th December 2012, a day-long seminar on ‘Women’s Rights: Access to Justice’ is being organized by the Human Rights Law Network, Nagaland Chapter, in collaboration with the Naga Mothers Association at 10 a.m. in the Red Cross Conference Hall.
The Keynote Address will be delivered by Mr.Mayanglima Ao, Registrar Gauhati High Court and Secretary, Nagaland Legal Services Authority. The first Technical session will deliberate on ‘Women and Human Rights’ with Panel speakers Mr.Ningolo Krome, Former Convenor, NPMHR and Mr.Kezhokhoto Savi, Advocate & President, NVCO.
The Panel speakers on ‘Naga Women and Customary Laws’ will be Rosemary Dzuvichu, Co-ordinator, HRLN & Advisor, NMA and Mrs. Azi Therieh, Judge & Deputy Secretary, DDLSA. The Second Technical Session will deliberate on ‘Violence against Women’ with Panel speakers Mrs.Sano Vamuzo, Chairperson, NWC and Ms.Zheviholi Swu, Advocate, HRLN.
The Panel speakers on ‘Women and Health’ will be Dr. Viketoulie Pienyu, Psychotherapist, Mental Hospital, Kohima and a representative Doctor from the NRHM, Nagaland. Participants who have been invited to the seminar to deliberate on different aspects of women’s rights are students, tribe women organization younger leaders, representatives from the Naga Hoho, NSF,ENSF,NBCC,ABCC, media from Kohima Press Club, Dobashis, Police officers, Mahila IRBs, lawyers, College principals and teachers.
