‘Work for your life, get busy and do your best’

One thing that most people frequently put at the top of the list of desires for tomorrow’s life is “security”. The person who gains his own self-respect and self-confidence by producing for his own needs is infinitely more secure than the one who leaves the solution to these needs or problems in the hands of someone else. Work gives us more than living; it gives us life. A man or woman is seldom happy unless he or she is sustaining him or herself and making a contribution to others.

Employment is the first rung on the ladder of successful life and is the toughest one to reach. If we have what it takes to get to it, it’s easy to move up after moving in. We get to the top of any business by getting started, and a sense of urgency about getting started is necessary. Once we have started, it isn’t so hard to keep going. It is very necessary to work hard and smart to achieve success. Life is designed to be tough. Nothing is offered on a silver platter; which means that people have to keep trying to succeed. In actual sense, there are so many challenges in life that only hardworking people can overcome them. This explains why there are very few successful people in the world today. Some of the things that one must do for them to be successful include going through the planning process and doing some training and research. One must also have the right attitude or mindset about their goals. Unless you work hard, it is impossible for one to engage in such things. The more our efforts get success; the easier it becomes to do so. In the end it becomes our habit. Then success follows success. It is not how much we do is important, but how well we do is important. Life offers many opportunities to us to succeed and see it closely. But action is required for it. Even Charles Darwin proved that life is a continuous struggle for the survival of the fittest.

When people thrive in life, it is because of hard work. Being lucky has nothing to do with success in life. Hard work and success go hand in hand. With that stated, I’m not a big believer in luck being the reason for someone success in life. I’m not saying that I do not believe that luck exist or that luck is only a part of life but hard work is more important. Hard work can make impossibilities possible. Life is battle. Activity is the law of Nature. A life of idleness is a life of ignominy and discredit. Idle men are intruders on society. We are endowed with brain and limbs, which are meant to be properly exercised. Failure in life is very often due to idleness. Greatness can be achieved by great labor only. What a man earns by the sweat of his brow gives him a greater degree of satisfaction than what he gets by a stroke of fortune. Man wishes to have many things in life. Some of, them may be bestowed upon him by fortune, but to have the others he will have to work and toil; for he cannot have them for mere wish.

In old age, Pierre Auguste Renoir, the great French painter, suffered from arthritis, which twisted and cramped his hand, Henri Matisse, his artist friend, watched sadly while Renoir, grasping a brush with only his fingertips continued to paint, even though each moment stabling pain. One day, Matisse asked Renoir why he persisted in painting at the expense of such torture. Renoir replied, “The pain passes, but the beauty remains”. To quote the oldie, “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going”. In order to succeed, we must know what we are doing and believe in what we are doing.

“Work is the foundation of all business, the source of all prosperity and the parent of genius. Work can do more to advance youth than his own parents, they ever be so wealthy.

It is represented in the humblest savings and has laid the foundation of every fortune.

It is the salt that gives life its savior but it must be loved before it can bestow its greatest blessing and achieved its greatest ends.” {Anonymous}

Our noble thoughts are useless if we do not transform them into golden deeds. We should not waste our time in crying for the sorrowful past, doing wrong deeds, or waiting for the right time to start a work. All time is best to start an ethical work. We should love our work and try to be busy in the hard work and do our best. Work is a best exercise to our body and mind which brings real pleasure in life. Work is also the way to new opportunities together with the skill development.
