
Kohima, December 11 (MExN): As directed by the Government of India to promote digital payment systems, NIELIT Kohima organised awareness workshop on digital payment systems with a theme ‘Go Cashless, Go Digital’ at NIELIT Kohima and its extension centre at Chuchuyimlang on December 8 and 9.
L. Lanuwabang, Director i/c of NIELIT Kohima informed in a press release that the main objective of the workshop was to promote digital payment options as an integral part of Government’s strategy to transform India into a cashless economy and to inform citizens about government policies and about digital financial options available to them.
Hands-on demonstrations on cashless modes of payment such as USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data), UPI (Unified Payment Interface), AEPS (Aadhaar Enabled Payment Systems), e-Wallet and POS/Card were shown by the technical team of NIELIT and State Bank of India officials, the release said. The workshop was attended by public, merchants and students.
