Workshop educates Nagas on stock market, tech analysis

Dimapur, May 14 (MExN): Nagas are financially illiterate when it comes to savings and investments. There is very little awareness about making investments- especially the rights ones. Stock markets, equity shares, policies are relatively alien terms to most people. Added to that, companies making beeline to dupe ignorant customers with fake policies has propelled many Nagas from making investment with genuine policies.
In order to create awareness to the mass about the basics of stock market and technical analysis and remove fear psychosis from the minds of the people, Sky Wealth Management organised a workshop on ‘basics of stock market and technical analyses in Dimapur today. Sky Wealth Management is a private financial management firm established in 2009 at Dimapur, with its corporate office at Bangalore. The aim of the workshop was also to educate the mass about the functioning of stock market and the different strategies involved in investments.
Despite poor attendance, the workshop managed to educate participants on the basics of stock market and making the right kind of investments. Abhishek Mukherjee, a financial analyst from Bangalore who conducted the workshop said that, to understand the stock market is not easy but it is simple. He said that with discipline and getting the basics right, investing in stock is a good way of making money. “You can never be broke. You will always be making little amount of money,” he said; adding that proper knowledge about the functioning of stock markets is essential to make safe and wise investments.
In the case of Nagaland, Mukherjee was of the opinion that people don’t really know what is happening in the world of stock marketing. As a result people are making risky investments in the wrong hands. He said that it is easy to cheat people because they have less exposure to equity, he said. He elaborately explained about the technicalities of the functioning of stock markets.
Sky Wealth Management, Vice Chairman, Thsapong Sangtam said that with Nagas having little or no exposure to stock market, the workshop is the first of its kind in Nagaland. The idea is to help people understand how stock market has involved in India and how it can help increase personal wealth.
There was an open discussion during the latter part of the workshop. Queries and doubts were raised by participants. Although the turnout was not impressive, the workshop was definitely an eye opened for those who attended. Sky Wealth Management is located in Purana Bazar. It has a tie up with Angel Broking, a stock broking company in Mumbai.
