DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 9 (MExN): The Department of Economics, St. John College, Dimapur organised a three-day workshop on Securities Market Investment from February 4 to 6 in collaboration with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM).
The annual workshop, now in its third year, was aimed at enhancing financial literacy among participants. The sessions were led by NISM securities market trainer Chenio Lotha, who shared his expertise on various aspects of securities market investment. The programme was coordinated by Khonzanthung, assistant professor in the Department of Economics, St. John College.
According to the organisers, the workshop provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of securities market investment. Topics covered during the three days included the pre-requisites for investing in the securities market, risks involved in such investments, and portfolio management techniques.
Following the workshop, participants took part in a financial literacy quiz and were awarded certificates of participation.
The Department of Economics stated that the workshop was one of several initiatives undertaken by the department to prioritise financial literacy and to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to make informed financial decisions.
