World AIDS Day 2025 observed in Kiphire and Tobu

Kiphire, December 1 (MExN): Kiphire district on Monday observed World Aids Day 2025  under the Theme "Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response" at DPDB Hall, Kiphire.

Deputy Commissioner Kiphire Temsuwati Longkumer NCS, in his address, stated that the World Aids Day is observed to raise global awareness about HIV/AIDS, and to honour those affected. 

While appealing for a transformed and innovative method, ensuring no one is left behind especially the most vulnerable one, the DC emphasised on the need for all the people to come together and step forward and help fight the HIV epidemic together.

Dr Holiba A Anar, Medical Officer ARTC emphasised on World Aids Day, history, significance and on the Theme of the day’s program. Anar stated that the despite making progress in educating people, social stigma and taboo still exists and added that the day becomes significant for raising awareness about HIV/ AIDS to support those living with the virus, and also to remember those who have lost their lives with the disease. 

While proposing short speech, DLN Kiphire spoke on awareness about Mission Shakti and the schemes available under Government Schemes.

The World AIDS Day 2025 was jointly observed by the four Targeted Intervention (TI) projects of the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) under Mon district — JACAOA Tobu, NNP+ Aboi, Shansham Organisation Mon Town, and Turning Point Tizit at Tobu Town on December 1.

The program was attended by Newman Higher Secondary School, Tobu, Govt. Higher Secondary School, Tobu, Administration of Tobu Sub-Division, 29 Assam Rifiles, TASU, TTSU, KNSK Tobu Unit, KNSK Tobu Town, Tobu Town Council and GBs Tobu Town.

Stephan, Project Manager ofShansham Organisation, Mon Town delivered on the significance of the day. Short speeches were also delivered by the EAC Tobu, Er Mhao Humtsoe and the Officer Commanding of 29 Assam Rifles, Tobu, Ranjit Roy. Dr Pangjong, MO CHC, Tobu was invited as the resource person. The resource person reflected on the global theme and stressed the importance of reducing stigma, ensuring access to treatment, and strengthening support for affected individuals and families.
