World Hepatitis Day observed at Kohima

Dimapur, July 29 (MExN): Along with the rest of the world the World Hepatitis Day was observed at Regional Resource Training Center, NE-II conference hall, Red Cross building Kohima. The program was chaired by Benthunglo Kikon, District resource person (Program) Link Worker Scheme Kohima district. Tribhuwan Lama welcomed the participants on behalf of the organisers.
A press note stated that Phurba Yolmo, counsellor Kripa foundation spoke on the significance of the day he stated that the World Hepatitis Day was observed to commemorate the Birthday of Prof. Blumberg, who discovered hepatitis and The World Health Assembly declared July 28th as world Hepatitis Day. He urged the NGO’s, Health service providers to seriously sensitize and create awareness on hepatitis and its affect among the general Public. Ketholelie, president of Nagaland Users network also appealed the service providers to approach the patients in a right way and not to discriminate the people suffering from hepatitis as it kills both the body and mind .The program was organised by Nagaland Users Network, Kohima Users’ network and Kripa Foundation.
