Dimapur, March 9 (MExN): In a joint press release, Presidents of two Students’ Unions have asked the Deputy Commissioner of Mon district to re-arrest the culprit involved in the murder of one Kavito Awomi, as well as stop the work of coal mining in Naginimora.
The Presidents of Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) and Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) have urged upon the law enforcing agency to act upon the matter at the earliest, and to not grant bail to any of the culprits so as to “avoid possible communal tension among Naga brothers”.
The two bodies have also asked for clarification why the DC’s office has, and on what ground, released the culprit(s). They demanded that if the culprit(s) are not re-arrested, then the bailer(s) must be arrested. The WSSU and KSU have additionally asked for the work of coal mining at Naginimora to be halted until the case is solved.
“Law enforcing agency will be sole responsible for any untoward incident that may arise for failure to re-arrest those culprit(s),” stated the press release.
