DIMAPUR, JUNE 4 (MExN): Reacting strongly to the rejoinder issued by Joel Nillo Kath, Public Action Committee (PAC) Co-ordinator against the statement of the WSKH and WSSU in regard to the matter of identity card being issued to Muslims, the Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) felt that the statements of the WSKH and WSSU was not against eradicating the problems created by the illegal migrants. “It was just a suggestion put forward purely out of concern for the increasing menace caused by the illegal migrants which does not deserve such condemnation”, stated a press note issued by Kakiye Zhimo, President and Mughavi Chishi General Secretary of the WSYF.
According to the WSYF, the statement issued by Joel Nillo Kath saying that the Sumis in the Niuland Sub Division are being dominated by Mians and are being forced to issue these statements was very “misleading and provocative”. The WSYF reminded Joel Kath that the Sumis of Niuland or any other place were never and will never be dominated by any community or tribe let alone the Mians.
“His statements reflect his personal hatred towards the Sumis for which he should be answerable to the Sumis. Considering the severity of his statement the WSYF asks Joel Kath to tender apology to the Western Sumis through the media within 24 hours starting from 6:00 AM 05.06.2012”, the press note demanded. Failure on his part to comply with this directive may compel the WSYF to take its own course of action against him for which the WSYF should not be held responsible, it stated.
