Players of the Yanlung Unity and Empire Spikers Black after receiving their awards on November 29.
Mon, December 2 (MExN): The 2nd night volleyball tournament under the motto ‘One life, one chance, avoid drugs’ was held at Jahwao ground, Lapa Lampong, Tizit, Mon from November 25 to 29.
A press release from the organising committee informed that a total of 16 teams participated, including one team from Arunachal Pradesh and two from Assam. In the championship, Yanlung Unity from Assam defeated Empire Spikers Black also from Assam to lift the championship title.
The champions Unity received a cash prize of Rs 30,000 along with citations, while the runners up Spikers Black received Rs. 20,000.
The best setter award was given to Akash Pnotim Deori from Empire Spikers Black and best spiker award was won by Prabitra Deori from Yanlung Unity The five day long tournament was organised by Naoshelim with an objective to create awareness on staying away from use of drug/substance. Donation boxes were also set up, and the collected amount was handed over to the rehabilitation centre.
