Yimchunger domestic helpers banned

Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): A Yimchunger organization today said to have imposed ban on domestic helpers hailing from the community and working in and around Kohima. The Yimchungrü Union of Kohima issued a note today alleging “so many incidences on harassment and torturing” of domestic servants and helpers in Kohima. “Noting serious concern over so many incidences on harassment and torturing of Domestics servants/helpers in and around Kohima, the Yimchungrü Union Kohima have resolved to ban domestic servants/helpers from Yimchungrü community,” the union said in the note.  However if any citizen has employed or wishes to employ as their domestic servants or helpers from Yimchungrü tribe “on the ground of giving education or training” should register his name in YUK with Rs.100 as registration fee with immediate effect. This is to avoid “any future complication in case of any untoward incident,” the union said.  The union will not be responsible if any incident arises from failure to comply with the union’s decision, it added.
