Dimapur, November 6 (MExN): The Yachem Officers’ Forum (YOF) has condemned what it termed as the “outrageous and unethical vilification and character assassination” of one of its bonafide members.
In a press release, the Forum said it was deeply concerned and hurt by the manner in which the officer was being “targeted and shamed simply” for being nominated and included in the panel list for induction into the IAS from the non-SCS category.
While appreciating the State Government for selecting the officer, the YOF stated that it was constrained to issue the statement for public information and awareness.
At the same time, it pointed out that while differing opinions were being expressed in both print and social media regarding the issue of non-SCS IAS induction, it denounced personal attacks.
The Forum also urged all to exercise caution and refrain from personal attacks, stating it was uncalled for and unjustified.
If such random and casual vilification is allowed to persist, the matter will only lead to escalation of tension and corrode the social fabric, which could lead to undesirable outcomes for peaceful coexistence, the YOF added.
