Wokha, December 30 (MExN): Yonchucho Students' Union celebrated the Golden Jubilee on December 28 and 29. C Peter Yanthan, addl. Director Department of Agriculture graced and unveiled the jubilee monolith stone.
The speaker extolled the young students to work hard and acquire more knowledge and make it a tool for the community progress, stated a press release from Abenthung Kikon.
“We cannot compromise our future if the students of present generation are not dedicated and walk in the right direction, stating that students are the biller of the future generations,” Yanthan asserted.
Student are torch bearers that illuminate the dark to brighten up the future.
He also asked the student conglomerate not to develop complacency but develop a positive mindset to learn and know more.
Dr Longshibemo Yanthan speaking on the theme "Expand your Horizon" said that celebration of the 50 golden jubilee of YSU is the past glory of those students leaders who envisioned for the future community.
He exhorted the students to be like an eye of an eagle rather than a chicken who has less focus than the eagle. “To expand ones vision is through inspiration that draws more out of oneself which is done by having positive mindset attitude and seeing things in every different prospective. If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change,” Yanthan added.
On educational prospective, he said that students need to rededicate in their studies and commit themselves in the area of learning stating that “people without vision will perish.”
Yanthan lamented that the use of alcohol and drugs by youths and students not only spoils the life but bring unrest to the family and society.
The monolith stone was dedicated by O Thungben Kikon Pastor Wokha village Baptist church.
Earlier message of greetings was delivered by Lipemo M Tsopoe President LSU. While the programme was chaired by Thungbeni Kikon Cultural Secretary LSU.
