Kiphire, December 22 (MExN):Young XI FC lift the first edition of the Kiphire Town Students’ Union Football Tourney defeating Abide FC with 2 goals to 1. They walked away with cash certificate and medal. Besides, individual category awardees were also given cash and certificate.
Speaking at the programme as special guest, Thrijungliba S Sangtam, National Executive Member BJP, ST Morcha, incharge eastern Nagaland and Karbi Along expressed hope that condition of sports in the district will improve under the leadership of chief minister Neiphiu Rio and Minister for Soil & Water Conservation and Geology & Mining, V Kashiho Sangtam.
He also appealed the young sports person to take active part and wage peace through sports.
Thrijungliba further lauded the initiative of the Kiphire town students Union for organising such an event where young players can exhibit their talent.
P. Achumse Sangtam, general secretary United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP) and Tsalumpi President KASU also spoke on the occasion.

Highest goal scorer: Apili of Vikings.
Player of the tournament: Benjamin of Crusaders
Best goal keeper: Rokho of young XI.
Upcoming player of the tournament: Tsekhali of Teenagers FC
Best discipline team: Teenagers FC
Best team coach and Manager to Lithrobgba and Chimpise: Ellan FC.
