Mokokchung, September 23 (MExN): As part of the celebration for Youth Voters Festival 2018, a debate competition for colleges was held at the Auditorium of Mayangnokcha Govt. Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung on September 21, on the topic ‘Involvement of the Civil Society Organization including Church has helped in cleaning the Election System in Nagaland.’
Three colleges, namely, Fazl Ali College, People’s Collage and Jubilee Memorial College participated in the competition. The Judges adjusted Akavi (Fazl Ali College), Noklensangyu (Jubilee Memorial College), and Imchamanen (People’s College) as First, Second and Third respectively from among the participants.
EAC & Nodal Officer SVEEP, Mokokchung, Hukashi Yepthomi in her keynote address said the programme was part of Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiatives to create awareness among the Youth.
Pughoboto: Youth Voters Festival of the Election Commission of India was held on September 20 and 31 at Pughoboto organised by the District Election Officer, Pughoboto.
On September 20, slogan writing competition was held in three schools viz: Government High School, Pughoboto; Mission School, Pughoboto and New Foundation School, Pughoboto where class 9 and 10 students participated. On September 21, Inter-School quiz competition was held where New Foundation School emerged as the winner followed by Government High School, Pughoboto and Don Bosco School, Lazami. Students, teachers and officials from the District Administration attended the programme.
