Dimapur, August 28 (MExN): The youth department of Mopungchuket church on August 27 visited Mokokchung district jail under the theme “You Will Be My Witness” with the core message “New Creation in Christ” 2 Corinthians 5:17. Their slogan was “All are one in Christ”.
Mopungchuket Baptist Church Youth Department general secretary Arenjungla in a press release said that today, the Churches need to retrospect her ministry. Spiritual and Moral activities inside the four corners of the wall is not the end of her purpose. The Church has to move out in search of the lost sheep until one is found. The Church should not expect the lost one to come to her well constructed buildings but she has to venture out and lead the lost one to the safe side of God. With this understanding, headed by its Youth Director Imli P altogether 30 young committed youths were involved in the said ministry.
For many, it was their first experience interacting with the inmates and it was a time to realize that the Churches in general have neglected the central part of its ministry, that is, to proclaim release to the captives. Many youths were blessed and challenged towards the ministry of Church, the secretary also stated. It was a blessed time of sharing the love of Jesus, singing and recreation, followed by a volley ball match. Small gifts were also distributed to the inmates and also to the Jail authority. After which a love feast time was followed prepared by the Youth department.
