Participants of the career guidance seminar organised by the YSUD on April 23.
Dimapur, April 24 (MExN): A career guidance cum seminar was organized by the Yimkhiung Students’ Union Dimapur (YSUD) with the theme ‘Fostering Career Understanding and Decision Making’ on April 23 at Yimkhiung Baptist Church Dimapur, Half Nagarjan.
The three speakers for the event were Yanthrongla Yanthan, Commercial Tax Officer Dimapur; Paukizonne Mariam, Assistant Professor, Immanuel College Dimapur; and Debojyoti Sarkar, Head of Operations, Pinnacle Skills Dimapur. The event was attended by one hundred and fifty youths.
During the first session, Yanthrongla Yanthan oriented the gathering on competitive exams and their types. She also emphasized on the strategies for exam preparation. “Studying smart is equally important as working hard” added Yanthrongla.
Paukizonne Mariam encouraged the students to have a clear-cut career path by choosing the right stream options after clearing the HSLC or HSSLC exams. Paukizonne concluded by saying "career choices are life choices. Take them seriously. Do it right.”
Debojyoti Sarkar spoke during the second session and highlighted the importance of the local economy and youths as the driving force. He encouraged youths to respect the dignity of labour and understand the value of work.
