ZAPO Kohima unit celebrates Tsukhenye

Kohima, April 24 (MExN): The 10th General Session -cum-Tsukhenye Festival of Zuketsa Area Public Organisation, Kohima Unit (ZAPO, KU) was held at the NSF Solidarity Park, Kohima on April 23. 

According to a press release on Sunday, guest speaker during the festival Kewekhape Therie, President, NPCC asked the gathering to preserve and honour the practice of honest life. He said that people were respectful to each other in the past especially to elders and so all matters were resolved by the decisions of the wise elders of the village. He called upon the younger generation to learn the good traditional values of their ancestors and pass them down.

The release stated that Tsükhenye festival marks the onset of agriculture activities in its full swing and has five days of activities. Besides the festival feast, Tsukhenye Beauty Contest was also conducted for the bonafide members, the release stated.

The meeting was chaired by Kelhikha Kenye and the nomination committee headed by Isaac Losou nominated a new team of office-bearers to be led by Er Lhiwepe Khutsoh as President for the tenure of 2022-2025, as per the release.
