Zeliangrong Baudi not to tolerate AR frisking

Dimapur, April 24 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Baudi has demanded withdrawal of all Indian military personnel from the Zeliangrong areas especially in and around the NSCN (IM) camp, Camp Hebron. The Zeliangrong organization said that the Indian forces patrolling and frisking in Zeliangrong areas, be it Assam, Manipur or Nagaland “is not something the Zeliangrong people will quietly sit and watch.”

The organization issued a press release today said four days have passed since the road opening party of the 12th Assam Rifles “created havoc” by entering the vicinity of the NSCN (IM) camp fully armed and ‘in a 407 Military truck.’ Much have already been said and done by the Naga Hoho, the Naga Students’ Federation and the Naga Mothers’ Association but in spite of the numerous appeals, the Indian forces stubbornly refuse to budge, the ‘Baudi’ said. “Now, do Indians still expect us to trust them?”

The Zeliangrong Baudi stated – “The Indian forces patrolling and continued frisking in Zeliangrong land, be it Assam, Manipur or Nagaland is not something the Zeliangrong people will quietly sit and watch. If at all the assurance of the State IGAR is to be believed, the paramilitary force assured that ‘life in Nagaland shall and must continue as normal’. With constant patrolling, raids, intense frisking and policing the general public; do Indians still expect us to believe them?”

The organization ridiculed the Assam rifles’ motto “Friends of the Hill people.” Ironically, the ‘Baudi’ stated, the Indian forces have hardly any respect for the Naga civil societies like the Naga Hoho or the NSF.

“It won’t be far from now when the hill people tag them, ‘Foes of the Hill people’ for their constant highhandedness creating chaos and fear psychosis among the Hill people. Do the Nagas deserve these pain and agony for the irresponsible lapses of some bunch of 12th AR Jawans?”

The AR forces desisting from aggravating the situation, when the talks are underway at New Delhi between the Naga group and the Indian Government would be a matured decision, the press release said.

“As stated by the State IGAR: If these occupational forces maintain that no individual or cause can be placed above the will, aspirations and desires of the people and citizens, it is a humble request of the ZB to kindly withdraw all security forces at the earliest from Zeliangrong inhabited regions, especially in and around Hebron HQ in Peren District taking into account the need for peace and security of the common people.”
