Dimapur, April 28 (MExN): The two groups of Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) – one led by Raitu Chawang and the other by Jenchui Kamei, have signed an agreement declaring to form into a ‘one unified body’ on April 27. As per a ‘declaration’ statement received here, both Chawang and Kamei signed the historic agreement “in the name of Almighty God” and to carry forward the long-standing political aspiration of Zeliangrong Community, initiated by the freedom fighter of India, late Rani Gaidinliu.
The agreement was arrived at after “intense persuasion” of the Zeliangrong civil society organisations, the statement added. The signing of the agreement was witnessed by Akhang Kamie, President, Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) and CR Zeliang, President, Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland.
