Zunheboto Government College held its 3rd Inter-Departmental Seminar on March 7 at the college conference hall, bringing together faculty members from different departments to present and discuss research work.

The first presentation was delivered by Jenny Kent and Mercy L. Zhimo, Assistant Professors from the Department of English. Their paper, titled “The Necessity of Boredom in the Age of Dopamine Addiction,” examined how constant digital stimulation is affecting attention spans and emotional well-being. The presenters discussed how the decline of unstructured or idle time has implications for creativity, reflection, and mental health.

The second paper was presented by Nitokali V. Chishi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography. Her study, “Spatio-temporal analysis of Land Use Land Cover Change (2013–2023) using Geospatial Techniques: A Case Study of Zunheboto District,” analysed changes in land use patterns in the district over a ten-year period using remote sensing and GIS tools. The presentation highlighted observable shifts in the landscape and underscored the importance of informed land management practices.

Both presentations were followed by question-and-answer sessions with faculty members. The proceedings were documented by Hurato Rhakho and Lipokjungla Jamir, Assistant Professors from the Departments of Geography and English respectively.
