DIMAPUR, APRIL 6 (MExN): Parliamentary Secretary for Urban Development, Zhaleo Rio asserted that teachers should show care, compassion and concern while imparting quality education to students. He stated this while addressing the students, teachers and faculty members of the Bethel Baptist School, Old Showuba village on April 6.
“You must remember that the fate and destiny of so many persons are in your hands and the future of these young people depend on how you mould them,” he said.
Lauding the sincerity and dedication of teachers in private schools, Zhaleo opined that teachers in private schools are better than those in Government schools. “Private schools get better results in most of the Board exams,” he added.
He stated that students at present are in a better position than students from previous eras due to the existence of career guidance programmes. “Those of you who are studying in private schools should consider yourself the privileged few,” he said.
He also expressed happiness that Bethel Baptist School, established in 1984, has produced “prominent members of the society” including SDOs, Engineers and EACs.
Zhaleo also expressed his willingness to help out the school in any manner possible. He added that “the school is catering to the educational needs of not only Showuba village but also of all other adjacent villages.
Zhaleo was accompanied by Independent MLA, Toyang Changkong Chang, of Tuensang Sadar I Assembly constituency and a host of other party functionaries.
