ZSUK organises candlelight vigil in Kohima

The Zeliangrong Students' Union Kohima (ZSUK) on Wednesday organised  a candle light vigil at Kohima Local Ground in honour of Late Itingwangbe Haikam, Late Peramhialungbo and Late Sikamwangbo, who were killed on March 22 at Lamhainamdi village under Peren district.

The speakers strongly condemned the incident and urged the state government to do justice by immediately arresting the culprits and all those involved in the incident. The speakers also stated that it would fight till justice is met. Gun culture has no place in the civilized society, it stated. Let us stand together and speak for those three innocent souls, another speaker said.

Those who addressed the service includes; Dr Hiabe Zeliang, president Zeliangrong Baudi Kohima, Dr Kepelhusie Terhuja, president Angami Public Organization, Pankathung Lotha, president Lotha Hoho Kohima and Timikha Koza, president Tenyimi People's Organization.

The programme also witnessed solidarity speeches from Zeliangrong Students' Union Nagaland, Rengma Students' Union, Pochury Students' Union, Angami Students' Union, Chakhesang Students' Union and Kohima Ao Students' Union.

Earlier, introductory speech was made by Dr Tumda Newme, president Zeme Council Nagaland. President of Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland also made a remark. The programme was chaired by Kalrinpibo, former president Zeliangrong Baudi Kohima while vote of thanks was proposed by Keyizu Hega, president ZSUK.
