ZSUN on governor’s concern on unemployment

This is in reference to his Excellency’s deep concern over unemployment on the 1st Day of 10th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Budget Session where statistics reveal that 44,960 unemployed are swimming in the Live Register of Employment Exchanges.

In fact, some may reach the shore and some may get drown if not properly guided by the champions of Youth Employment Government (DAN). As a matter of fact, I would like to remind the Govt. that till date no concrete policy/ firm step had been taken to revamp or arm the Existing Employment Exchanges or ever up-grate or open new exchanges in the four new Districts in Nagaland.

As these Exchanges are the only Offices where unemployed youth are accessible for registering both for Employment and Self-Employment.

The Govt. should not shy away with its lack-a-diasical attitude to this department and instead make it a “Nodal Department” to deal with both Employment and Self-Employment crisis at the earliest.

Every department should be directed to co-ordinate with employment exchanges, so as to give the real benefit to the genuine unemployed candidate when it comes to employment. As this department is the only Govt. Department in Nagaland that maintain the official record of unemployed youths in their live register both for employment exchanges.

Hence, state government should bring put a clear cut policy/programme for year long activities under the aegis of Employment Exchange like seminar, workshop, special training etc., for arming the unemployed candidates registered in the employment exchanges.

Secondly, any department that deals with Employment and self-employment programme should directed with a clear guideline to co-ordinate with employment exchanges. So, that Employment Exchange may sponsor the required job seekers from their live register and the best and genuine result is achieve showing placement records clear-cut without any lapses.

The concern shown by his Excellency is highly appreciated and it is hoped that this views expressed by laymen would not go unheeded.
