Kohima, December 22 (MExN): The Zuketsa Area Youth Organisation (ZAYO) has celebrated golden jubilee from December 18-20 at Zuketsa Local Ground under the theme-“Glorious Past, Resilient Future”.

Er Visakho Therie, Additional Chief Engineer, Department of Power, Government of Nagaland graced the occasion as special guest while Kewengulo Lasushe, Class-I Contractor & Social Activist was the Guest of Honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Er Therie urged upon the youth to embrace entrepreneurship with utmost sincerity and dedication which can boost the economy of the area and built a self-reliant society.

He also appealed the public of the area to uphold age old tradition of strong spirit of oneness and unity.

Also addressing the gathering, Lasushe called upon the youth of the area to choose sports as their career with commitment to excel.

Citing the examples of prominent sports personalities, he further said that sports is one of the most respectable profession and advised them to identify their talent carefully and pursue it with hard work and determination.

The ZAYO Golden Jubilee was a 3-day affair celebrating the rich and vibrant culture of sports.

Six teams participated during the 50th Anniversary edition- Leshemi Village, Lasumi Village, Zapami Village, Lewoza Village, Zuketsa Town and ZAYO Pfutsero Town.

The events include- Football and Volleyball (both men and women).

The Golden Jubilee edition of sports meet was managed by utilizing Zuketsa Local Ground and Leshemi Village Ground.
