Zunheboto, June 8 (MExN): Zunheboto District Disaster Management Authority (ZDDMA) held its monsoon preparedness cum first quarterly (ZDDMA) meeting at DC's Conference Hall, Zunheboto, on June 7.
Deputy Commissioner and Chairman DDMA, Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali (IAS) while chairing the meeting, highlighted the main purpose of the meetings, which were, to formulate action plans by all concerned departments under Zunheboto district on disaster related matters and to be prepared for any impending disasters. To take stock on the available quantities of medicines and food-stock in the district to be utilised in case of disaster hit situations. To identify hazardous areas and sign up awareness boards in various locations for public safety.
Further, the DC appealed to the citizens of the district and around, the strict restrictions on public activities in and around the river banks in order to mitigate any loss of lives and materials during the monsoon season because of the active and frequent flash floods being reported from various sources.
