Zunheboto public urged to uphold its peaceful reputation during elections

ZUNHEBOTO, JUNE 14 (MExN): The 2nd district level coordination meeting for the forthcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) election was held at DC's conference hall on June 14 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto Rahul Bhanudas Mali.

Speaking at the meeting, DC highlighted that Zunheboto district and its citizens are being appreciated because of the peaceful environment maintained during the processes, conduct and post-election period by the people and stakeholders in the last few years. He appealed them to continue maintaining the reputation. 

Additional Secretary & Election Observer, Zunheboto Yanpvuthung Kikon appealed to all CSOs for cooperation in all ways possible. The candidates were also informed not to misuse the resources while cautioning that any unfair means shall not be tolerated. 

SP Zunheboto, Kupe Kapfo while highlighting on the security arrangements asked the candidates to discourage use of any intoxicant while pointing out that every candidate's decision to contest was for a noble cause and so the effort should also be noble. 

Security personnel would be sectioned into four sectors and will be monitored with full vigil by the head office, he added. He asked the candidates to be careful of any electoral offences, which shall be least tolerated.

ADC & RO, ULB Elections, Keyirangding Hegui briefed the attendees on the Model Code of Conduct. He also appealed to the GBs, town council members, election officials, government officials and all other concerned for free and fair elections in the district.
