Dimapur, October 20 (MExN): The Dimapur District Excise duty party manning Newfield check gate while on a regular check gate duty intercepted a truck bearing registration No- AS 01CC 9591 bound for Imphal, Manipur around 3:30 AM on October 20. On frisking the vehicle, the duty party recovered 196 cases of assorted IMFL concealed under various vehicle tyres, T Arilong Longkumer, Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition, Dimapur stated in an update. In this connection, one Mithu Bhowmik (27) was arrested and booked under relevant sections of the NLTP Act 89'. The case is currently under investigation. The arrest was made by the team led by Yangpungrhomo AIE, Tsuknung Head constable, constables Ranglise, Vikaho, Sorenthung, Welikha, Amet, Athungo, Amenla and Kiyerangzaile.
