Longleng, April 16 (MExN): Persons entering Longleng district from different States will have to undergo a 10-day isolation period, according to District Surveillance Officer (DSO) Dr Maria Yaden.
The DSO stated this during a coordination meeting on COVID-19 held at DC’s Conference Hall, Longleng on April 15.
She further informed that any person developing COVID-19 related symptoms must voluntarily come for testing at the District hospital.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting was held to discuss the measures for public safety and awareness and resurgence of COVID-19 situation in the State and the district.
Chairing the meet, SDO(C) Longleng Trongdiba Tongpi stated that some households in the district have been sealed due to detection of COVID-19 positive cases. He appealed the citizens not to panic but to come forward to avail their service in the effort to contain the spread of the disease in the community.
The meeting discussed strict reinforcement of the latest SOPs and guidelines such as compulsory wearing of face mask, maintaining social distancing and hand washing facility in all business establishments. The need to spread awareness in all wards/villages in the district was also discussed.
The meeting was attended by all wards representatives, church leaders, NGOs, DBs, and council chairmen.
