The 10th Cultural Event of the Changtongya Students’ Union (CKT) was held on Thursday at Sürep Lenden, Changtongya, featuring a variety of indigenous games and competitions.
The event was opened by S Arenla Longkumer, President of Watsü Mundang. Competitions included traditional activities such as indigenous go-karting, target shooting, weft shuttle of yarn, folktale narration, and traditional chants.
Members from various units of CKT participated in the competition.
Speaking at the event, Likokyanger Longkumer, Tatar of the Village Council Nagaland, delivered an address on the marriage conventions of the Ao Naga community.
The cultural event aimed to preserve and promote indigenous traditions while fostering community engagement.
Meanwhile, the 82nd general meeting of the CKT was held prior to the cultural event.
Concurrently, students from various units of Changtongya have gathered for the 6th Biennial Conference, which also features a blend of cultural and competitive activities.
The evening session included a songs festival with a competition on the CKT anthem.
The conference will conclude on December 28 with a dedicated sports day with competition and exhibition matches.
