Home Minister Imkong L. Imchen today stated that a total of 112 persons were killed in factional clash during the period 2008 upto February 2012. Replying this to Opposition Leader Tokheho Yepthomi and MLA K.V. Pusa on the floor of the House, the Home Minister said that out of 112 persons killed, 88 persons were killed during 2008, 2 in 2009, 3 in 2010, 8 in 2011 and 11 persons (upto Feb 2012)- 2012.
The Home Minister also furnished the name of those killed from various factions. On being asked whether any civilian has been killed, the Home Minister said two civilians were killed in factional clash from 2008 upto February 2012.
Meanwhile, opposition leader Tokheho Yepthomi during the question hour impressed upon the DAN government to seriously look into the incident of killing in the state. He further said the government should seriously ponder as to how to control such killings taking place in the state.
