Zunheboto, September 12 (MExN): The 11th Inter-Departmental Tournament of Zunheboto district, organized by the District Sports Council Zunheboto (DSCZ) and the District Administration, commenced today with an inaugural ceremony held in Zunheboto.
Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS, attended the event as the special guest and urged participants to embody the true spirit of sportsmanship. He commended the organizing committee and all district departments for their efforts in bringing together government employees for the tournament, noting that it serves as a unique opportunity for camaraderie.
The tournament flag was hoisted by the Deputy Commissioner, who also declared the event officially open.
The inaugural ceremony was chaired by ADC Zunheboto and tournament convenor, Keyirangding Hegui. DSCZ member Zhekugha Assumi delivered the welcome address, while DPO and DSCZ member David Sema administered the tournament oath.
A total of 367 participants from 43 departments are competing in sports such as Badminton, Carrom, Chess, and Penalty Shootout.
