MON, FEBRUARY 17 (MExN): The 11th Inter-Departmental Tournament, organized by the Officers’ Club Mon (OCM), began on February 17 and will continue until February 19 at the club premises. Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Ajit, IAS, attended the opening ceremony as the special guest, while Superintendent of Police Mon, Kanchan Kumar Kandpal, IPS, was the guest of honor.
In his address, Kumar Verma commended the officers and teams for their efforts in making the tournament a success. He expressed gratitude for the establishment of the Officers’ Club in Mon, the first of its kind in Nagaland, calling it a valuable platform for officers to interact beyond official duties. He encouraged members to utilize the space for learning and camaraderie while upholding honesty and team spirit. Verma later declared the tournament open.
Kandpal, in his remarks, acknowledged the officers for dedicating their time to organizing the event. He urged them to maintain the same spirit of coordination to contribute to Mon district’s overall development.
The tournament oath was led by Er. Tingten, executive engineer (Power), while Additional Deputy Commissioner Mon and OCM general secretary, Pakon Phom, chaired the program. The opening ceremony featured a musical performance by Yangman Lukhim, who sang Queen’s “We Are the Champions.”
