Maligaon, October 31 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will facilitate the Nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 5.0 from November 1 to 30, 2026, in line with guidelines issued by the Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare and the Railway Board, NFR said on Saturday.
The month-long campaign aims to promote digital empowerment and simplify the annual life certificate submission process for railway pensioners and family pensioners, particularly senior citizens and those facing difficulty in travelling to pension-disbursing offices.
As part of the initiative, NFR will organise camps at identified locations, including zonal and divisional headquarters, and promote Aadhaar-based face authentication technology enabling pensioners to submit their life certificates using compatible smartphones. Special attention will be given to super-senior citizens aged 80 years and above, as well as sick, infirm and mobility-challenged pensioners, with doorstep assistance facilitated for those unable to visit designated camps.
Dedicated personnel, helpdesks and grievance redressal mechanisms will be arranged, and medical check-ups for senior citizens may also be organised at camps wherever feasible. Camps will be held across NFR, including at Maligaon Headquarters (November 4), Katihar (November 3), Alipurduar (November 3), Rangiya (November 6), Lumding (November 3), Tinsukia and Dibrugarh (November 2), New Bongaigaon Workshop (November 4) and NFR Construction Headquarters, Maligaon (November 17), among other locations.
