Dimapur, November 16 (MExN): The 14 tribes of Nagaland have said that political groups should not resort to threats, intimidation or aggressive tone which vitiates the existing peaceful atmosphere.
In a press release issued on Monday, the Press and Media Cell of 14 Tribes stated that a meeting was held on November 16 where it was resolved that the 14 tribes of Nagaland would not, “at any cost, tolerate any kind of such acts within the domain of our ancestral land.”
“Should any Naga political group resort to violence and bloodshed, they shall be considered as opposing people’s will and shall be treated as ‘anti Naga’’ and the 14 tribes shall jointly condemn and also initiate severe actions against such individual or groups,” it added.
Further stating that the Naga people are anticipating a transparent political agreement, honourable and acceptable to the people, it urged the Government of India and Naga negotiating groups to come together and sign the agreement without further delay.
