
Changtongya, November 15 (MExN): A 15-day Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) focusing on food processing and bamboo craft began at Longmatsu Sungki Hall, Changtongya town on November 15.
The training is sponsored by NABARD, organized by Care & Support Society Mokokchung and facilitated by NSRLM, Changtongya Block.
According to a press release from Moanungsang, BPM NSRLM Changtongya Block, SDO (C) Rorheu Peseyie graced the inaugural program in the presence of S Amarjit Mangang (DDM NABARD, Mokokchung) and Imchawati Kichu (Managing Director, Care & Support Society Mokokchung). The program was chaired by Talinungla (AC-SISD) and altogether 30 SHG members participated.
The DDM NABARD highlighted about the objectives of MEDP and acknowledged the various activities being undertaken by NSRLM SHG members. He further assured to extend support for more fruitful activities in the future. A short speech was delivered by the Managing Director, Care & Support Society Mokokchung, Imchawati Kichu who encouraged both the staffs and SHG members to strive harder with the vision and zeal to enhance the income of rural populace.
Officially inaugurating the training program, Rorheu Peseyie urged the trainees to take the training positively and grab the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills.
After the end of the inaugural session, training on rice papad making was conducted by Longchameren (AC Livelihoods) NSRLM as resource person. The participants were trained on two methods of making rice papad using locally available ingredients. Practical hands-on demonstration was also performed by the participants, the release stated.
