16-year old Khrievitso Kense who made his debut at the recently held Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 has been called up by the Mumbai Indians for trials.

The leg spinner from Nagaland had made his mark in the tournament, taking a wicket on his debut match against Arunachal Pradesh on January 13.

He went on to take 6 more wickets and ended the tournament on a high note with 7 wickets in 4 matches.

According to an update from Hyunilo Anilo Khing, Honorary Secretary of the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA), Kense was shortlisted for trials by five-time Indian Premier League winners, Mumbai Indians.

While Nagaland won all its matches, it failed to qualify for the next rounds in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The first match against Chandigarh was washed out due to which it had to share points, resulting in Bihar topping the Plate group and qualifying for the next round.

However, news of the 16-year old leg spinner catching the attention of the Mumbai Indians comes as a big confidence boost.

The NCA Hon Secretary also extended best wishes to Kense for the trials.
