Chümoukedima, October 2 (MExN): In alignment with the nationwide environmental initiative, the 173 Battalion CRPF organised a plantation programme on October 2 under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (A Tree in the Name of Mother).

The drive was successfully carried out simultaneously at the Battalion Headquarters, Airfield, Dimapur, and the BCS, Chümoukedima.

The eco-drive witnessed active participation from senior officers, including Narayan Balai, Second-in-Command, HB Mono Anal, Deputy Commandant, and Dr Lhouveku Nuh, alongside a large number of unit personnel.

Driven by a shared commitment to environmental sustainability, the jawans and officers planted numerous saplings across both locations, stated a press release.

The initiative highlights the force's dedication to combating climate change, preserving local biodiversity, and honouring motherhood through the symbolic act of nurturing nature.

Speaking on the occasion, the unit leadership emphasised the vital role of green cover for future generations and urged everyone to ensure the survival and care of the newly planted saplings.
