19 new cases in Nagaland; Health Minister appeals for public cooperation

19 new COVID-19 cases were detected in Nagaland on April 18 with 14 cases in Dimapur, 4 in Kohima and 1 in Longleng.

State Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom on Sunday took to Twitter to appeal for support and cooperation from the citizens to defeat the virus.

The present surge in positive cases is a warning, Pangnyu stated, while adding that the government and the department is doing all it can to tackle the pandemic effectively.

However, the Minister stressed that COVID-19 is not over yet, adding that citizens’ participation is required because the government alone cannot win the battle. “Please get vaccinated if you are eligible and follow COVID-19 SOPs strictly,” he tweeted.

The 19 new cases on Sunday took the State’s tally of active cases to 176.

As to an update from State Health Minister 8 recoveries were also registered on April 18.

The total number of cases in the State is 12,555 while recovery tally is 12,110, with the death toll at 94 (10 not COVID-related).
